Guardsman Pass

For everyone who is unfamiliar with Utah’s common autumn manifestation, it never seems to stick around too long.

Kind of like 1-2 weeks of color and then it’s onward to winter. Unlike Boston, or everywhere back East, they only have one season: Fall. And it’s to die for. (I’m extrapolating this from the gorgeous pictures I see…)

Regardless, when it’s time to see the colors up any of the favorite canyons, I quickly jump in my four-wheel apparatus and seek out some shots. This year the parental units joined me and we decided our best bet was to go up Guardsman Pass (along with the 50-hundred other people).

Although it was afternoon light, which didn’t exactly tickle my fancy, I did the best I could. I found it also helped that I recently procured a 10-22mm EF-S to add to my humble yet reliable lens family. Watch out J.J. Abrams—my lens flares are coming for you.
